Joy

Happiness is quite different than Joy... Happiness has to do with circumstance-- if "things" are going well, then we can be "happy". Joy dwells deep within-- it's innate. I've seen souls living under a bridge with true joy. I'm the only one that can interrupt my joy today-- nothing outside of me can touch it. Look within, though it might be covered up... Here's to finding yours today.

Change

People CAN change. I'm watching a young man being truly transformed. He spent the last 12 years rising up in what National Geographic calls "The World's Most Dangerous Gang" and now he tells/shows me that all he wants to do is help kids stay out of the life that he chose. It reminds me that anything is possible--and to NEVER judge by the outside appearance (you never know what's really in there until you LOVE).

Energy

What a different world it would be if people used their precious energy for creativity, collaboration, problem solving, etc. instead of griping, complaining and excuse making... I get to CHOOSE how I use my energy every day-- and that depends on my focus. Energy is FUEL: do something productive with it, rather than burning your neighbor's house down... However, it's your choice (but I will DIRECT my energy today).

Thoughts

"As a man thinketh..." The average human adult has over 50,000 unique thoughts in a 24 hour period. The problem? They typically tend to be the same thoughts they had yesterday and the same ones they'll have tomorrow. Is it a wonder so many feel like they're in a rut? Get some new material today--feed your most fascinating organ something fresh--something that will SERVE you and make you better, stronger--ALIVE.

Perspective

It occurred to me that the most fulfilling work that I am now involved in happens to be directly related to hardships, failures or mistakes from my past. Those times either prepared me for, or gave me a heart for those that I am now able to serve. Try to keep in mind that present victories are almost always preceded by trials and testing--God does some of His best and most significant work through pain...Hang in there!

Potential

I believe there is at least one special gift or talent inside of EVERYONE. It's buried deeper inside of some than others, and it's hidden very well sometimes--but it's like a "seed" or precious gold that needs to be discovered, mined and brought up. Sometimes even the one who has lost it is surprised when it appears--but that is where passion hides. Help someone discover their value today, and watch yours come alive.

Synchronicity

Synchronicity: "The coincidental occurrence of events that seem to be meaningfully related." Ever been stuck in traffic, making you LATE, only to arrive at the perfect time, so that you meet a random stranger, that happens to be the right person, at the right place, with exactly what you need? Just try to stay in the groove today, and assume that "what you need, is already on it's way." (It also helps with traffic!)
